The present folder contains all raw data and codes necessary to replicate the aoristic analysis performed in the paper by Romandini et. al.'Macromammal and bird assemblages across the Late Middle to Upper Palaeolithic transition in Italy: an extended zooarchaeological review, Quaternary International (under review) To use these codes please quote the paper and the DOI of the repository containing the codes themselves More in detail, the folder contains: ## Raw data# ############ * Ungulates.csv: table containing all ungulate counts from Grotta di Fumane, as well as start/end dates determined as specified in the methods section of the paper * Carnivores.csv: table containing all carnivore counts from Grotta di Fumane, as well as start/end dates determined as specified in the methods section of the paper * birds_eco.csv: table containing counts of birds from Grotta di Fumane divided into ecological classes # Log of codes # ################ Romandini_etal_log_v.2.01: this file contains the commented log of codes used to perform analysis and generate graphs related to aoristic analysis in the paper. It is enough to copy and past the code into an R console to reproduce the entire section of the paper. Required libraries and their version are reported at the beginning. The code makes extensive use of functions contained in the package archSeries (Orton 2017; Orton et al. 2017). # TableS1_updated.xls # ####################### List of the most recent available dates on the contexts treated in the paper at the moment of submission. # Output # ########## A folder with tables and figures reporting results of the analyses. Start and end dates were calculated in Oxcal 4.3 as the median of the posterior probability distribution assigned to each layer boundary/transition generated using the code reported in Higham et al. 2014 for Grotta di Fumane. # References # ############## Bronk Ramsey, C.
