Full description
This .zip archive contains the CaSty input files and output
workbooks used to generate calibrated results from aggregated
European Values Study (EVS) church-attendance distributions.
Reported percentages are weighted using pwght.

These files were used with CaSty 2.4 to produce the elaborations

This .zip archive includes aggregated and derived materials only.
It does not include the original EVS microdata.

Nature of the files
The .txt files are CaSty input files.
They contain:
- descriptive notes on the application
- the assigned values used in the calibration
- measured and stylized values
- sample composition
- run settings and calibration options

The .xlsx files are CaSty output workbooks generated from the corresponding .txt inputs.
Each workbook contains:
- a DataInfo sheet, reporting the input content and commands read by the program
- Tab&Fig sheets, containing calibration tables and figures
- DBase sheets, containing the derived data underlying the outputs

   Input file for the EVS Wave 1 robustness analysis.
   It also reports alternative calibrations of selected
   response-category values while keeping the observed weighted distribution fixed.

   Output workbook generated from 3.EVS_Wave1.RSB.church.txt.

3. 3.EVS_Year.1984.1981.church.txt
   Input file for the EVS Wave 1 country-level run, covering countries retained for 1981-1984.

   Output workbook generated from 3.EVS_Year.1984.1981.church.txt.

5. 3.EVS_Year.2021.1981.church.txt
   Input file for the pooled EVS waves run, covering retained EVS waves from 1981-1984 to 2017-2021.

   Output workbook generated from 3.EVS_Year.2021.1981.church.txt.

7. 3.EVS_Year.2021.2017.church.txt
   Input file for the EVS Wave 5 country-level run, covering countries retained for 2017-2021.

   Output workbook generated from 3.EVS_Year.2021.2017.church.txt.

9. CaStyInp.txt
   Default CaSty input file name. This file is included as a reusable input template and
   can be adapted by users to run CaSty with their own data and commands.

Each substantive .txt file is the direct input for the .xlsx file
with the same base name. In other words:

3.EVS_Year.1984.1981.church.txt -> 3.EVS_Year.1984.1981.church.xlsx

CaStyInp.txt is not linked to a specific output workbook with the same base name.
It is provided as the default input-file template used by CaSty.

Interpretive note
These files are intended to document the empirical application presented in the article
and to make the calibration procedure transparent and reproducible at the level of the
deposited inputs and generated outputs.
