Full description
This .zip archive contains the CaSty input files and output
workbooks used for two examples based on religious attendance
in the Netherlands in 1980 and 2000, derived from the article:
Scappini, E. (2021). Calibrating Questionnaires with Weekly Diaries:
An Application in Religious Behavior, Netherlands 1975 to 2005.
Sociological Methodology, 51, 166–187.
https://doi.org/10.1177/0081175020927438

The materials document two worked examples,
one for 1980 and one for 2000.

This .zip archive contains prepared input files and generated output workbooks. It does not contain original survey microdata.

Nature of the files
The .txt files are CaSty input files.
They contain:
- descriptive notes on the example
- the assigned values used in the calibration
- measured and stylized values
- sample composition
- run settings and calibration options

The .xlsx files are CaSty output workbooks generated from the corresponding .txt inputs.
Each workbook contains:
- a DataInfo sheet, reporting the input content and commands read by the program
- Tab&Fig sheets, containing calibration tables and figures
- DBase sheets, containing the derived data underlying the outputs

Each substantive .txt file is the direct input for the .xlsx file
with the same base name. In other words:
with the same base name. In other words:
1.ReligionNL1980.txt -> 1.ReligionNL1980.xlsx
2.ReligionNL2000.txt -> 2.ReligionNL2000.xlsx

CaStyInp.txt is not linked to a specific output workbook with the same base name.
It is provided as the default input-file template used by CaSty.

Note on the Error Index
The Excel workbooks include an Error Index (EI) produced by CaSty.
This EI is not identical to the I index proposed in Scappini (2021).
It is calculated according to the operational formula implemented in the software
output and should therefore be interpreted as a CaSty diagnostic indicator,
rather than as a direct reproduction of the article’s I index.
