Full description
This .zip archive contains the input files and output workbooks
used for the application presented in the article:
Scappini, Ettore. Calibrating Items With Time Use Diaries:
A Refined Method. Methodology, 2025, 21(3), 197–219.
https://doi.org/10.5964/meth.13215

The main empirical application concerns religious attendance in Italy,
using Time Use Survey 2008 data. The deposit also includes a simple
illustrative example used to explain the calibration models.

This .zip archive contains only input files, output workbooks,
and related derived elaborations used with CaSty.
It does not include the original survey microdata.

Nature of the files
The .txt files are CaSty input files.
They contain:
- descriptive notes and run settings
- measured and stylized values
- sample counts
- labels and calibration options

The .xlsx files are CaSty output workbooks generated from the corresponding .txt inputs.
Each workbook contains:
- a DataInfo sheet, reporting the input content and commands read by the program
- Tab&Fig sheets, containing calibration tables and figures
- DBase sheets, containing the derived data underlying the figures and outputs

Files included in this .zip archive

1. 2.Metho.SimulaExample.txt
Input file for a simple illustrative example.
Scope: demonstration of the calibration models.
Content: simplified example data and CaSty commands.

2. 2.Metho.SimulaExample.xlsx
   Output workbook generated from 2.Metho.SimulaExample.txt.
   Scope: simple illustrative example.
Content: calibration tables, figures, and derived data sheets.

3. 2.Metho.IT.TimeUse.08.Religio.txt
Input file for the main empirical application.
Scope: Italy, Time Use Survey 2008, religious attendance.
Content: measured values, stylized values, sample counts, notes, and CaSty commands.

4. 2.Metho.IT.TimeUse.08.Religio.xlsx
   Output workbook generated from 2.Metho.IT.TimeUse.08.Religio.txt.
   Scope: main empirical application.
Content: calibration tables, figures, and derived data sheets.

5. CaStyInp.txt
Default CaSty input file name. This file is included as a reusable input template and
can be adapted by users to run CaSty with their own data and commands.

Each substantive .txt file is the direct input for the .xlsx file
with the same base name. In other words:
2.Metho.SimulaExample.txt -> 			2.Metho.SimulaExample.xlsx
2.Metho.IT.TimeUse.08.Religio.txt -> 	2.Metho.IT.TimeUse.08.Religio.xlsx

CaStyInp.txt is not linked to a specific output workbook with the same base name.
It is provided as the default input-file template used by CaSty.

Interpretive note
These files are intended to document the empirical application and illustrative example
presented in the article and to make the calibration procedure transparent and reproducible
at the level of the deposited inputs and generated outputs.
