Abstract

Since their first apparition, MMICs have been considered as very promising devices to allow miniaturization, increased reliability and cost reduction of space-borne equipment. All actors, i.e. agencies, foundries and payload manufacturers have joined their efforts to promote the introduction of MMICs in space programs. The aim of this paper is to illustrate this evolution taking examples from the achievements accomplished at Alcatel-Espace.
