Abstract
La comunicazione presenta una ipotesi di lavoro sulla storia di decurioni.
L'autore ritiene che l'evoluzione del ruolo dei decurioni durante l'Impero Romano, in termini sociali e politici, nonché la persecuzione costante a cui sono sottoposti. Un'indicazione specifica di questa evoluzione, non sempre coerente, può essere vista nella grande varietà di appellativi menzionati dalle fonti: immagine di un potere in progressivo cambiamento nelle città romane.
The paper presents a working hypothesis about the history of decurions.
The author considers the changing role of decurions during the Roman Empire in social and political terms and the constant harassment to which they are subjected. A specific indication of this evolution, not always consistent, could be seen in the wide variety of names mentioned by the sources: the image of a progressive changing power in Roman cities.
