Abstract

[Law and literature: the personalistic foundation of the story of the Pinocchio puppet by Carlo Lorenzini (Collodi)] The novel “Le Avventure di Pinocchio” constitutes an unavoidable reference in the narrative of the formation of the modern Italian national state and an in-depth analysis of the political and legal philosophical plan makes it possible to bring out the essential characteristics of a personalistic foundation in the evolution of the narrative figure of the puppet Pinocchio. The birth and maturation of his personal history is intertwined with the convictions and biography of his author, prefiguring a novel of national education that lays the foundations for further reflection on Mazzini’s work on the duties of man.
