Abstract

This dataset, developed as part of the Horizon 2020 HOLAHERIS project, contains data related to the strain monitoring under controlled loading and the numerical modeling of the cantilever staircase in the Museum of the City of New York. The experimental strain data recorded under human loads resulting from fiber-optic sensors installed in the intrados of a representative tread are collected herein. In addition, numerical strain data obtained by means of a 3D solid finite element model of the staircase, where each tread interacts with the adjacent ones through contact, are also collected here, together with the geometry and the mesh of the finite element model.
