Abstract

Heavy Draft Horses (IHDHs). The survey asked about various management practices and welfare issues of IHDHs. The survey was divided into several sections. In particular, the first section asked for general information on respondents and farm details. The second section covered all aspects of equine welfare and included questions on feeding, housing, health and behaviour. A sample of 92 IHDH breeders completed the survey and each row of the dataset represents the answers of a single respondent. The aim of the study was to gather information on the general farm management performed by IHDHs breeders and highlight the good practices and welfare concerns faced by the IHDHs.
