Abstract

The public debate over potential Artificial Intelligence-related transformations is widespread. Yet, very few wonder about how to think about this rapidly changing scenario: what conceptual stance, what analytical frameworks, what epistemological posture. This is relevant not just theoretically, but also in practice, as different stances lead to divergent views about how to build a desirable future. Even desirability of outcomes may be seen differently, depending on conceptual assumptions. In this ebook, six scholars from various disciplines (organization theory, medicine, psychology) offer reflections on this issue. All of them warn us that the most common, mainstream conceptualizations may not provide a fruitful perspective, and that a conceptual reflection is not only necessary, but urgent.
