Abstract

The contributions collected in this volume address the several challenges related to the Italian translation of the “Nibelungenlied” – a masterpiece of Medieval German literature (early 13th century). Smoothly conversing with the long-lasting, multilingual scholarly literature on this poem, the authors of the present publication thoughtfully address how translation challenges have been discussed in the past and suggest innovative solutions to overcome them. The result is not a collection for experts only. Conversely, and in line with the title of this series, essays are also thought for a wider audience. While combining a didactic purpose with engaging critical readings, the volume equips its readers with practical solutions and insights, empowering them to navigate the complexities of translation at a professional level, regardless of the historical period or the language to which the source text refers.
