Abstract
The presented dataset contains data produced in the framework of the Horizon Europe Nano-ImmunoERA project, regarding the size, photophysical and electrochemical properties of carbon quantum dots (CQDs). The aim of the study was to develop a highly sensitive electrochemical immunosensor for the detection of cardiac Troponin I (cTnI), based on screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) modified with two types of CQDs: CQD-COOH and CQD-NH2. The resulting CQD-modified SPCE immunosensors demonstrated promising performance, achieving detection limits of 62 pg/mL and 171 pg/mL, respectively. This straightforward sensor design provides valuable insights into fabricating paper-based printed electrodes enhanced with novel carbon-based nanomaterials, paving the way for immunosensors capable of detecting other disease biomarkers.
