Abstract

The present dataset includes data and images generated as part of the ECLectic project, focusing on the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) behavior of magnetic microbeads covalently functionalized with [Ru(bpy)3]2+. These microbeads were studied either in presence (Ru_Bead_(Ir(sppy)3)3-) or absence (Ru_Bead) of an Ir(III)-based redox mediator, namely [Ir(sppy)3]3-. The experiments were conducted on a boron-doped diamond (BDD) working electrode under two surface conditions: oxygen-terminated (AO_BDD) and hydrogen-terminated (CR_BDD). The dataset provides evidence of the feasibility of using BDD electrodes for ECL bioanalysis at low overpotentials, facilitated by the addition of the [Ir(sppy)3]3- mediator.
