Abstract

The present dataset includes data generated as part of the ECLectic project, focusing on the extension of the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emitting layer on microstructured electrodes that interact differently with the coreactant. In particular, the ECL emission of [Ru(bpy)3]2+ in a phopsphate buffer (PB) solution with tri-n-propylamine (TPrA) was studied on glassy carbon (GC) and gold (Au) microelectrodes arrays with different geometries (GC-30, GC-15, Au-30, Au-15). Through microscopic imaging of the ECL emission on the surface of single microelectrodes, this dataset provides interesting mechanistic insight about the possibility to tune the Ru(II)/TPrA reaction mechanism.
