Abstract
This dataset contains the raw data from the two experiments: i) bovine oocyte IVM and viability
dataset refers to Exp. 1 in which bovine immature (bGV) and mature (bMII) bovine oocytes were
vitrified without (VIT) or with NX (VIT-NX) to assess protocol efficiency and evaluate whether results
obtained in bovine MII oocytes (without holding) could serve as a counterpart to equine oocytes
subjected to overnight holding; ii) equine oocyte viability and cleaved embryos after ICSI,
equine oocyte GSH, ROS, and HMMP levels, and equine oocytes qRT-PCR datasets refer to Exp. 2 in
which equine in vitro matured oocytes after overnight holding (eMII) were vitrified with or without
NX, and analyzed for viability, reactive oxygen species (ROS), glutathione (GSH), high
mitochondrial membrane potential (HMMP), developmental competence following intracytoplasmic sperm
injection (ICSI), and expression
of apoptosis-related genes (BCL2, BAX, p53) by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR).
