Abstract

This report presents an annotation system developed for the analysis of oral interactions in intercomprehension (IC) within academic contexts. The scheme is designed to capture how participants manage understanding, negotiate meaning, and coordinate interaction while communicating through their own linguistic repertoires. The annotation framework is articulated into five main levels, covering incomprehension sequences, lexical phenomena, conversational dominance, pragmatic and interactional strategies, and non-verbal and prosodic resources. Each level is illustrated through excerpts from the OIIC (Online Interactions in InterComprehension) corpus. Overall, the annotation system is a flexible resource for investigating interactional dynamics, mediation strategies, and meaning-making processes in plurilingual academic communication.
