Abstract

[Leonardo i Velimir: renassansnyi tvorets kak "khudozhnik-dlya-proizvoditelya". Predvaritel'nye nablyudeniia] The article focuses on parallels between Leonardo da Vinci’s and Velimir Khlebnikov’s oeuvres and biographies. Both artists/poets combined in their creations the methods of scientific and artistic knowledge. Each of them called himself an inventor. It is possible to define both as «an artist for theoreticians», «a poet for producers». Both Leonardo and Velimir have long since become a legend, a myth. Their idiostyles are extremely complex and have a number of formal similarities. Both creators most certainly deserve to be called homo universalis.
