Abstract
The present dataset includes data generated as part of the ECLipse project, focusing on the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) behavior of magnetic microbeads covalently functionalized with a stimuli-responsive derivative of [Ru(bpy)3]2+. The reduction-sensitive disulfide bridge, that links the luminophore to the bead, gets cleaved upon reaction with the neutral TPrA radical, releasing the luminophore in solution and activating the homogeneous mechanism. These microbeads were studied under a microscope on glassy carbon (GC) and Pt substrates at different concentrations of TPrA. Further experiments were conducted on a different kind of beads, that mimick a real bead-based immunoassay. Their ECL response to progressively higher concentration of Ru(II) labels was assessed to simulate calibration curves on commercial immunoassays.
