Abstract

LET’S GIVE SPACE TO TRANSLATOR STUDIES. THE LITERARY TRANSLATOR AS A RESEARCH SUBJECT AND OBJECT • The paper introduces us to an emerging field within Translation Studies, which includes research focused on the translational subject, as the term Translator Studies suggests. After a brief overview of the theoretical background in which this field of studies originates, the paper focuses on some of the research directions which a translator-centered approach to translation allows. Two key words are proposed to describe these directions: embodiment and microhistory.
