Abstract
The present dataset contains data from a study involving accelerated aging of glass specimens for the understanding of weathering patterns and the evaluation of conservative protective coatings. Two types of coloured glass were analysed, the first is a lead-free soda-silicate glass (orange), while the second is a mixed-alkali lead-rich glass (blue). The specimens were artificially aged through artificial rain exposure in runoff conditions (Drop), followed by T and RH cycling in a climatic chamber (Drop+CC). The specimens were then coated with commercial protective treatments and artificial aging was repeated, with the inclusion of UVA radiation for part of the specimens. At every step samples were monitored with SEM/EDS and colour analysis in the CIELab colour space. FTIR-ATR was used to monitor degradation phenomena in the coatings.
